As you know, the 2004 version of
Battlestar Galactica is completely available on high-definition Blu-ray disc, in a
Complete Series set that's buy-able now in a
limited edition special package, and will be available on April 6th in a new, simpler
standard package. However, individual season sets have only been released in Blu-ray for part of the show:
Season 4.5 (the final half of the final season) was released on BD last July, at the same time the
Complete limited-edition set first came out. In January we saw the Blu release of
Season 1, and when the repackaged version of the
Complete set arrives on BD this April 6th, we'll also get the Blu-ray edition of
Season 2.
While Universal Studios Home Entertainment has not yet officially announced the separate Blu-ray release for
Season 3 just yet, late this afternoon they did provide retailers with an advance look at the packaging for that upcoming high-def title. We've got your first look at that below, thanks to our friends in the retail world. And while we're at it, we should mention that our buddies over at The Digital Bits website have
posted a look yesterday at the revised packaging for
The Complete Series. These pictures are from the packaging that you get via the
"trade-in" program that we've previously reported about. But the retail boxes for the new "repackaged" version are going to be exactly the same as this (
as we've shown).
Here's that package art for
Battlestar Galactica - Season 3 on Blu-ray Disc...stay tuned for a release date and other details!
