Battlestar Galactica - Package Art Revealed For HD DVD Release of 1st Season

2 weeks ago Universal Home Video released all the details about their December 4th release of Battlestar Galactica - Season 1 on HD DVD. However, the box art wasn't ready just yet. Now, we've just gotten it in from the studio! From the picture below, it looks like an octagon-shaped package, inside a clear plastic case that helps it sit on your shelf better. An interesting look, and one that clearly sets it apart from the standard DVD version of the set. Amazon.com is taking pre-orders on this release, with a $69.95 cost to you if you lock it in now (that's 30% off the list price).

While we have your attention, a couple of quick notes about Battlestar Galactica - Razor, which ships the same day. First, we've confirmed that there will NOT be an HD DVD version of that item on December 4th. Universal isn't ruling it out somewhere down the line, but you won't be able to get it on a hi-def disc this year. Secondly, we've heard from many of you that Amazon's pre-order listing for Razor shows a drastically wrong price ($59.99 list price, instead of the studio's $26.98 SRP). We've informed Amazon's customer service number. We've informed Universal. We hope that this gets resolved quickly, but it's just not within our power to do much more than that. Keep in mind, though, that if you place an order with Amazon, and the price goes lower, your order will be adjusted to the new lower price automatically.
