From Warner Bros. Animation comes the latest interpretation of the classic Batman franchise. Our caped crusader is teamed up with heroes, delivering nonstop action and adventure with a touch of comic relief. Blue Beetle, Green Arrow, Aquaman and countless others will get a chance to uphold justice alongside Batman.
Though still based in Gotham, Batman will frequently find himself outside city limits, facing situations that are both unfamiliar and exhilarating. With formidable foes around every corner, Batman will still rely on his stealth, resourcefulness and limitless supply of cool gadgets to bring justice home.
This morning Warner Home Video has formally announced Batman: The Brave and the Bold - Volume 1 on DVD, swinging into action on August 25th. Our friends at trade journal Home Media Magazine gave their readers a sneak peek at that announcement later in the day yesterday, but today Warner's given us even more!
The 4 included episodes (89 minutes) are "Rise of the Blue Beetle!," "Terror on Dinosaur Island!," "Evil Under the Sea!" and "Invasion of the Secret Santas!"; no bonus material has been mentioned at this time. Cost is $14.98 SRP. An online trailer is available to view. Warner's information also mentions that Batman: The Brave and the Bold - Volume 2 and Batman: The Brave and the Bold - Volume 3 DVD releases are already in the works (no surprise there); stay tuned and we'll bring you up to speed on those items - what will be on them, and when they'll be available to buy - just as soon as the studio formally announces them!
