After the bigger box art we posted yesterday for Batman:The Animated Series - Volume 1, we had to find a way to top it. So this morning we have for you 5 screen shots from the menu system: the Main Menu, plus shots of each disc's extras menu.
The extras menus are especially revealing. Not only do they 100% confirm our early info about the bonus material on this set, but it answers a question we raised last time: which order will the episodes be in? If you note, the commentary tracks are by producers Bruce Timm, Paul Dini and Eric Rodomski. These commentaries are on Disc 1's "On Leather Wings", and on Disc 2's "Heart of Ice". The latter is the give-away, detectives: it was the 3rd show aired, and the 14th one produced. If this compilation would be in airdate order, that episode would be on the 1st disc. But in production order, that story is the final track on Disc 2, which you can see from the menus below is where it actually will be. Funny, though, because the graphic of Mr. Freeze is on Disc 3, and the graphic of ClayFace is on Disc 2...that should be reversed. Whoops, it's another mystery!

Special Features, Disc 1:
Special Features, Disc 2:
Special Features, Disc 3:
Special Features, Disc 4:
If the thinking on production order we use above turns out to be accurate (and it's consistant with Warner's pattern for the single-disc B:TAS releases), then you can expect the disc-by-disc contents of this package to look like this:
Disc 1: "On Leather Wings" (Commentary with Bruce Timm, Paul Dini & Eric Rodomski), "Christmas With the Joker", "Nothing to Fear", "The Last Laugh", "Pretty Poison", "The Underdwellers", and "P.O.V.". FEATURETTE: "The Dark Knight's First Night".
Disc 2: "The Forgotten", "Be a Clown", "Two-Face (Part 1)", "It's Never Too Late", "I've Got Batman in My Basement", "The Cat and the Claw (Part 1)", and "Heart of Ice" (Commentary with Bruce Timm, Paul Dini & Eric Rodomski). FEATURETTE: "Batman: The Legacy Continues".
Disc 3: "See No Evil", "The Cat and the Claw (Part 2)", "Two-Face (Part 2)", "Beware the Gray Ghost", "Prophecy of Doom", "Feat of Clay (Part 1)", and "Feat of Clay (Part 2)". FEATURETTE: "Tour of the Batcave".
Disc 4: "Joker's Favor", "Vendetta", "Fear of Victory", "The Clock King", "Appointment in Crime Alley", "Mad as a Hatter", and "Dreams in Darkness". TRAILERS: "Other Super Hero Favorites" (promos for Challenge of the Superfriends, Justice League - Star Crossed, and Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman).
*UPDATE*
Jim Harvey, from ToonZone.net and World's Finest, sent us this e-mail referencing the episode order. Although he doesn't state here where he got his info from, previous posts at ToonZone demonstrate that he has contacts who have worked with this release, and that may be the source of his info:
Hey guys,
Just a quick note about your new news post. The episodes will be in production order with two part episodes grouped together. These bigger volumes will follow the same suit as the single volumes. The single volumes were, of course, in production order, but also grouped the two part episodes together (as seen in VOL. 3 with the two TWO-FACE episodes side by side). Great work on the news, guys!
Thanks, Jim, both for the info AND for the compliments. We admire all of your efforts, too!
