A couple of weeks ago we
had the surprise news that
Barney Miller - The Complete 2nd Season is coming in early 2008. This morning was Sony's official announcement date, so we can now pass along that the 3-disc set will arrive on
January 22nd! Cost is $29.95 SRP for 22 episodes running 565 minutes.
Sony's official info to retailers does not include extras other than the usual "bonus previews" (ads of other Sony TV-DVDs). However, trade journal
Home Media Magazine is reporting on this week's new issue, page 38, that this release will contain 2 bonus minisodes: "
Charlie's Angels: Angels in Chains" and
The Facts of Life: Growing Pains". As you may recall, "minisodes" are regular episodes of shows, edited down to tell the episode's story in just 3 to 6 minutes, using only the most essential scenes taken from an installment that originally ran a half hour to an hour! Sony has done this with a number of their TV properites, and collaborated with MySpace to put them on
The Minisode Network website. But it looks like you'll get a couple of these to try out on your DVD, too.
This isn't up for pre-order yet at Amazon's USA branch, but strangely enough
