Back in June 2004, we
posted news about the box set of
Babylon 5 - The Movies, a collection of all the telefilms related to the
Babylon 5 program. Well, except for one. Creator J. Michael Straczynski said
Legend of the Rangers "
will be a separate DVD since it's really not a part of what comprised the original B5 movies." A year and a half later, fans are still waiting for this release to finish off their
B5 DVD collection.
You'll finally get your chance to do that on
March 14th! At long last,
Babylon 5 - The Legend of the Rangers makes its DVD debut on that date, in a single disc release that goes for $19.98 list price. Here is the official description from Warner Home Video:
Babylon 5: The Legend of the Rangers is an original made-for-television movie from
the creator of the original Babylon 5 series. The telefilm takes place in 2264 after the wars are over and a new age of space exploration has begun. The Interstellar Alliance has been organized to establish and maintain peace among its member worlds, including Earth. The Rangers are an elite military force made up of hand-picked young, smart, dedicated human and alien members, who combine the high-tech elements of space travel with the idealism and honor of the knights of old. They encounter a previously unknown alien race whose lethal power is far greater than any force previously known to Earth, or any other world in the Interstellar Alliance.
Stay tuned, because once Warner makes the official wide announcement of this release, we'll have more info including specs, extras (if any, but we presume there will be some), and full-sized cover art. We're pleased to break this news to our readers, and stay tuned until we can bring you more!
