A couple of weeks ago Arts Alliance America released
the 1st season DVDs for the Burt Reynolds series
B.L. Stryker, as part of their "TV Guide Presents" lineup. Recently reader Gary Akers sent us a note (thanks, Gary!) saying he had heard about the studio plans for the follow-up set. with the remaining 7 episodes in the series.
Yesterday we heard back from AAA via their P.R. agency, who confirmed that
B.L. Stryker - The Complete 2nd Season will indeed arrive on
July 15th. Our own research sees that among the many guest stars in these few episodes will be Ned Beatty (whose first film was in 1972's
Deliverance, with Reynolds), Doug McClure (
The Virginian), Dom DeLuise (who paired with Reynolds in several films such as
Cannonball Run), Brent Sexton (
Deadwood, Life), Eriq La Salle (
ER), Cicely Tyson (
Roots), Loni Anderson (
WKRP in Cincinnati, Stroker Ace, and at the time Reynolds' wife), Rita Moreno (
West Side Story, The Electric Company, Oz, Cane), Ricardo Montalban (
Fantasy Island, Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan), Julianne Moore (
Boogie Nights, Hannibal), Carol Alt (
Thunder in Paradise, Celebrity Apprentice), Jerry Reed ("Snowman" in Reynolds'
Smokey and the Bandit films), Alice Ghostley (
Bewitched, Designing Women), Morgan Brittany (
Dallas) and James Best (
The Dukes of Hazzard).
