In a recent story I
posted at TVGuide.com, I commented in the final paragraph that it was reasonable to expect
Avatar: The Last Airbender - The Complete Book 3 to show up on Sept. 9th, because Nickelodeon and Paramount had released the first and second seasons sets on the second Tuesday of September in the previous two years. Defying that logic, though, this morning the studios switched things up a bit and announced that this set will instead arrive on
September 16th. So much for my guesswork! Ah, well.
The announcement this morning is extremely thin on details: there is no pricing, bonus materials or package art available so far. However, we expect it to be a collection of 5 DVDs with every episode from this final season of the hugely popular animated show. Confirmed specs are limited to full screen video, English Stereo audio and a running time of 8 hours 20 minutes. Stay tuned, though, and we'll bring you updates as soon as they're available!
UPDATE: Nickelodeon and Paramount have just sent over package art for
Avatar: The Last Airbender - The Complete Book 3. It also gives a peek at the disc art, showing that there are indeed 5 DVDs in this package:
