Posted by David Lambert
Up, up...and away! Oh, wait...wrong hero. Aang is bald once more, and hang-gliding to boot, on the cover art for Avatar: The Last Airbender - Book 3: Fire, Volume 2. This DVD was announced today by Nickelodeon and Paramount Home Entertainment, with plans for launch on January 22nd. The studio says:
The epic adventure of the Avatar continues with the second installment of the highly anticipated final book of Avatar: The Last Airbender, Book 3: Fire - Volume 2. This release features 5 new to DVD episodes including the Day of the Black Sun; the long awaited invasion of the Fire Nation!!
Other included episodes should be "The Avatar and the Firelord," "The Runaway," "The Puppetmaster" and "Nightmares and Daydreams," followed by the aforementioned "Day of the Black Sun." Running time is more than 2 hours, and cost is expected to be $16.99 SRP. We've verified that the Book 3, Volume 1 release at the end of this month (Oct. 30th) will have Audio Commentary Tracks by the Creators and Crew, and we expect to find similar commentaries on the Book 3, Volume 2 disc as well. Here's the box art:
