Earlier this week Nickelodeon and Paramount Home Entertainment
announced the
January 22nd release of
Avatar: The Last Airbender - Book 3: Fire, Volume 2 on DVD. It will have 5 episodes on it: "The Avatar and the Firelord", "The Runaway", "The Puppetmaster", "Nightmares and Daydreams" and "Day of the Black Sun". Now we've gotten some material aimed at retailers that reveals more info about this disc:
- Special Features include Audio Commentary from Creators, Cast & Crew
- An Exclusive Mini-Comic book is included in every DVD
- The DVD is expected to benefit from awareness generated by 9 weeks of premieres building up to the "Day of the Black Sun" on-air event scheduled for Thanksgiving weekend 2007
Wow, mark that on your calendars, eh? But also mark the date for this DVD release, too! Cost is verified to be $16.99 SRP, and while Amazon isn't listing it yet, you can
pre-order it from DVDEmpire for just $12.06 at this time. The following is a new studio description of the release, sent to retailers, followed once more by the package art:
Legend has it that when the sun is in full eclipse the Fire Nation will be at their weakest and most vulnerable. In the second installment of Avatar: The Last Airbender - Book 3: Fire, Volume 2, Aang, Katara, Sokka and Toph continue to prepare for the coming eclipse. Aang and Zuko learn about their shared past, Toph gets into trouble in a small Fire nation village, and Katara learns a Waterbending technique that she wishes she could "unlearn?" When the Day of Black Sun finally arrives, the long awaited invasion of the Fire Nation begins!
