A short time ago today, we
passed along word that Sony's upcoming DVD releases of the 2003
Astro Boy series have been delayed. That's not the only DVD delay we have to report, though, that's related to Tezuka's classic character. A month ago we
reported that Right Stuf International was releasing two "mini-sets" from the original 1963
Astroboy animated series, and that these were scheduled to come out on September 29th. Now we've learned that Right Stuf has pushed those titles back a week, to
October 6th. No reason was given for the change, but it's probable that the goal is to move these closer to the Oct. 23rd theatrical debut of the new CGI
Astro Boy film.
