"Army Wives": a new ensemble drama series about the struggles, dreams and friendships of a diverse group of women - and one man - living with their spouses and families on an active army post and the pressures and traditions of the military on those who are left behind while their partners serve their country. The series stars Kim Delaney ("NYPD Blue"), Sally Pressman ("Shark"), Brigid Brannagh ("Over There"), Brian McNamara ("The O.C."), Sterling K. Brown ("Starved"), Wendy Davis ("Commander in Chief"), Drew Fuller ("Charmed") and Catherine Bell ("JAG").
The popular new Lifetime channel series
Army Wives, from Mark Gordon Productions (a production company whose work includes
Grey's Anatomy), is headed for DVD next year! Rumors from an industry insider tell us that Touchstone and Disney/Buena Vista would like to release the 13 episodes from the show's first season as soon as
Late February, which is about six months after the initial season ended. The show has been renewed for a second season (18 episodes have been bought), though, so a DVD release might therefore be held up past February, to tie in with the debut of the new episodes. No final decision has been made on the timeline, but our sources are pretty solid on the idea that the DVDS *are* coming! Stay tuned and we'll keep you posted.
