After Paramount Home Entertainment's release of
The Andy Griffith Show - The Complete 1st Season this past November, the initial plan from them (which was
talked about previously) was to get the show on the fast track, like many other TV-on-DVD releases from this studio, and hopefully get to the fourth season by the end of this Summer. That plan got derailed somehow, though, for reasons that haven't been made public, leaving fans to wonder just when the 2nd season would arrive on DVD.
Now we have word from industry sources that
The Andy Griffith Show - The Complete 2nd Season is being readied now for a
Mid-2005 release, with the date currently pencilled in (and still very subject to change!) being
June 14th May 24th. Chalk this one up to the "rumor" column for now, but stay tuned and we'll fill you in on the details once the studio gets everything finalized.
UPDATE: Our date previouly posted this morning - June 14th - was incorrect; that was the date given for Walker, Texas Ranger DVDs. The May 24th date is the one which should have been posted for The Andy Griffith Show - The Complete 2nd Season. TVShowsOnDVD regrets the error.
