This American Life - General Retail Release of Season 2 Now Set for July

We've previously told you that Showtime's DVD release of This American Life - Season 2 would be available exclusively at Borders for a time, beginning this past January 20th. Now Showtime and Paramount Home Entertainment have informed other sellers that this disc will be available for general retail release beginning July 21st.

According to the provided info, it "includes all second season episodes PLUS an exclusive extended episode, audio commentaries, and This American Life – Live!, a feature-length theatrical presentation featuring Ira Glass and other show contributors." Running time is 201 minutes, and cost is $19.99 SRP.

And no, we haven't forgotten that Glass promised that this month (April) would see the availability of "a limited-edition commemorative DVD...containing both seasons and extensive liner notes from Glass and the show's staff." However, there's been no actual sign of that, which we can find anyway, either for general retailer or exclusively at Borders.

In the meantime, here is the early cover art that was provided along with the with information for Season 2's general retail release. It matches what was seen at Borders, but the studio notes that it may not be final artwork. Stay tuned and we'll update you if we see anything different!
