Hot new film stars don't usually just come out of nowhere. Such is the came with Amanda Bynes, who starred in last year's film hit,
What a Girl Wants (and has two more films in-the-works). Bynes got her start on Nickelodeon's kid-version of
Saturday Night Live, which was the 1995 series called
All That. Soon, though, she broke out into her own series, which was named right after her:
The Amanda Show.
Now, with Bynes' star rising, Nickelodeon and distributor Paramount are bringing out two DVDs of
The Amanda Show. Each one is a best-of release containing four episodes from the second season. The arrival date is
Oct. 5, and list price is $16.99:
- The Amanda Show - Vol. 1: Amanda, Please!
- Episodes 14, 17, 22, and 26.
- The Amanda Show - Vol. 2: The Girls' Room
- Episodes 16, 19, 24, and 28.
Both DVDs come with a Behind-the-Scenes Featurette, plus Outtakes. Video is full-screen, and audio English Dolby Stereo. Running time is 88 minutes for each disc.
