The Alvin Show - Paramount Announces a DVD Release of The Very First Alvin Show

Single-disc title coming Sept. 8th, along with Alvin & the Chipmunks - Star Wreck

The very first broadcast show of the classic Chipmunk series from 1961 that started it all, never released before on VHS or DVD! The Chipmunks humor, mischief and music are on full display! The DVD includes this classic episode, plus two additional episodes, "Rockin Through The Decades" and "A Chipmunk Reunion."
In addition to announcing a new DVD release of episodes from the '80s animated series, Paramount Home Entertainment today revealed that September 8th will see the first-time release of 3 episodes - including the debut installment! - from the original 1961 program, The Alvin Show. The studio info says that this release will run 74 minutes, with full screen video and English Stereo audio. We'll try to double-check those audio specs, though, because unless they re-mixed it for this DVD release, then it ought to be mono. No pricing or package art is available so far, but stay tuned and we'll fill you in when we get all of that!
