After three weeks in theaters, the live-action/CGI film Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel has grossed almost $178,500,000 in the USA alone (as of this writing)...a huge success, especially since it's competing with the juggernaut that James Cameron's Avatar obviously has been during the entire time. In The Squeakquel, parents have found a great choice of a movie to take their younger kids to, and also enjoy it themselves since so many of us grew up as fans of the NBC Saturday morning cartoons. CBS/Paramount hasn't forgotten about that program or its fans, either, and today they've announced that March 30th will see the DVD release of Alvin & the Chipmunks - Cinderella, Cinderella.
This 66-minute, single disc release obviously features the 1986 cartoon "Cinderella? Cinderella!," which focuses on Brittany (one of the Chipettes) in the title role of the chore-bound would-be dance-goer. There's no indication yet about which other cartoons are included on this release, nor has package art, pricing or any other details been provided. Stay tuned, though, and we'll update you when anything additional becomes available!
