Alphas - A 'Wide' General Release of 'Season 2' - Its Last - is Announced

3-DVD set with the final episodes of the Syfy show will be everywhere this summer

Posted by David Lambert
Discredited by the government after revealing the existence of Alphas in Season One, Dr. Lee Rosen (Academy Award nominee David Strathairn, Good Night, and Good Luck) must re-assemble his now defunct team to face the growing threat of Alpha extremist Stanton Parish (John Pyper-Ferguson, Fringe). With the help of tech-genius Skylar (guest star Summer Glau, Firefly) and memory recorder Mitchell (guest star Sean Astin, The Lord of the Rings trilogy), Rosen and his team must work together to uncover Parish's chilling plan. But with a mole in their midst, can they overcome the dangers that surround them and stop Parish before it's too late?
Universal Studios Home Entertainment announced this morning that Alphas - Season 2 - the final season of the Syfy-aired show - is coming to general retail on July 16th. The 3-DVD set (sorry, there's no Blu-ray) will be priced at $44.98 SRP. Package art can be found below. Yes, we'll acknowledge that we're about to get emails from some of you out there reading this, saying "but thtis item is already available!" Yes, but it's exclusively out at just one brick-and-mortar chain for now, and we don't cover those kinds of releases. The studios don't provide us with info about titles for these exclusives, the retailers who do it don't seem to want the other retailers to particularly know about it, and both we and most of our readers don't think these kinds of "promotions" are good for consumers. So we only cover a title once it's been scheduled for a general "wide" retail release. Like this one has been now. Here's that artwork:
