DVDEmpire.com, one of our affiliate online retail partners, has had a pre-announcement listing for a while now on
Allo 'Allo! - The Complete Series 7. You can't pre-order it there at this time, but the listing clearly shows it is on the way. This 2-DVD release of the BBC show is near to the end of its 9-season run, and now we've gotten some new details about the package! Let's begin with the studio description:
Poor Rene. His only desire is for a peaceful life in his quiet cafe in Nouvion, France. The only difficult decision he wishes to make is which waitress to sneak off to the broom closet with for a quick cuddle. But ever since the war started, nothing is simple. As if it wasn't bad enough to be shot dead by the Germans, now the resistance wants to shoot him also and he must flee to, of all places, England! But first, he must rescue his mother-in-law, who was last seen in her bed with Leclerc attached to a hot air balloon heading due south at 500 feet, and he must also smuggle food to the British airmen, who have gotten themselves stuck down a drain in the middle of the town square, all while attempting to evade the deadly singing voice of his wife Edith! Will this war never end?
Besides the 10 episodes on two discs, running about 300 minutes, you'll also get an Interview with Richard Gibson ("Herr Flick") and John Louis Mansi ("von Smallhausen") from the BBC's popular chat show,
Wogan. Release date is tentatively planned for
January 15th (subject to change), and cost is expected to be $34.98 SRP. Stay tuned for box art and any updates we might get along the way, okay?
