The next-to-last season is coming to DVD on May 6th: Allo 'Allo! - The Complete Series 8 arrives on that day from BBC Video. This 2-disc set features all 8 episodes, including the double-length 1991 Christmas special, running 248 minutes. A documentary is also included as a special feature. Life is looking up for René Artois. The British airmen have finally escaped to England, Captain Bertorelli and his Italian troops have gone home, and the war is going badly for the Germans. Could this mean the return to a peaceful life for René? Not when Yvette announces she is pregnant! There is nothing for René to do except marry Yvette, but first he must retrieve a compromising photo of Lieutenant Gruber with the painting of the Fallen Madonna with the Big Boobies, which is mysteriously missing one booby!

Meanwhile, the French Resistance think they have captured Hitler and Goering, but they have actually captured Colonel Von Strohm and Lieutenant Gruber in disguise. General von Klinkerhoffen forces René and Edith to dress up as Hitler and Goering in an effort to trap the Communist Resistance, but they are instead captured by a group of rebel German officers who immediately sentence them to death.
