Do you remember the press release over a year ago which announced that in 2007 Funimation would release the DVD for Samuel L. Jackson's animated 2006 mini-series, Afro Samurai? The time is almost at hand, because on May 22nd there will be released not one, but two versions of this show!
The first release is the standard Spike TV-broadcast version of the production, on a single DVD for $19.98 (pre-order at Amazon for $13.99). The second version is the Director's Cut, completely unedited and including an extra 15 minutes of footage for $39.98 SRP (pre-order at Amazon for $27.99), on a 2-DVD set that also includes over 40 minutes of behind-the-scenes bonus material with the cast and crew.
Here's the box art for both releases. The top picture is the single-disc version, and the middle and bottom pictures are exterior and interior shots of the two-disc Director's Cut edition:
