A few weeks ago we
reported on Funimation's official announcement for the Blu-ray Disc release of
Afro Samurai, coming out on
August 26th. The package art for this disc has shown up since then, and we've got a look at it for you below. Interestingly, the title shows up on this box art as "
Afro Samurai - Season 1 Director's Cut." Season 1? The previous DVD releases did have that phrase in their titles! Wow, it sounds like there are plans for Samuel L. Jackson's 5-episode mini-series to be expanded with more stories. If that's the case, we'll be happy to eventually pass along more news about additional home video releases...down the road, of course.
