Adventures in Hollyhood is a reality series that follows Academy Award winners and rap artists Three 6 Mafia on their quest to establish themselves as Hollywood players. The series begins as Three 6 Mafia and their entourage pack their bags in their hometown of Memphis, Tennessee, and head west to Hollywood, California. Along with maintaining their success as multi-platinum hip-hop artists and keeping true to themselves and their southern ways, the group tries to make the most of their fame by pursuing everything that Hollywood has to offer.

Adventures In Hollyhood reality show jumped into stores without us getting any advance notice. That's hard to believe, since Three 6 Mafia hail from right here in Memphis, which is where I'm at, and I didn't even hear about this DVD from the locals! These guys ought to be big news around here, since they blazed onto the national scene with the Oscar-winning song from the film
Hustle & Flow, "It's Hard Out Here For a Pimp." Maybe I just don't move in the right circles? Probably that's it. Anyway, I'm really grateful to reader Matthew Glubiak for letting us know about this, after it showed up in the big national chain store he works at!
The reason it was under-the-radar for us is because this TV-DVD actually came out from a music label, Capitol Records (a division of Sony BMG Music). It's a single disc with 8 episodes that originally ran on MTV this past April and May (they also re-aired later on BET). There's also some extras by way of Out Takes, Behind the Scenes and Never Seen Episodes. List price is $14.98 SRP, and here's the cover art:
