The last remaining bit of
Absolutely Fabulous that's not out on DVD yet in North America is the "White Box" special. It's the Christmas 2004 special that included guest stars like Nathan Lane, Miranda Richardson, Laurie Metcalf and Sir Terence Conran (playing himself). For some reason, Lane is the only one of those mentioned in the studio description:
Edina and Patsy are back and devastatingly divine in this extra fabulous special, with a hilarious guest appearance by Nathan Lane! Edina has been bitten by the home makeover bug and wants to redecorate the kitchen. The trouble is, she's awfully fuzzy on the specifics. At wit's end, Eddy and Patsy shop for inspiration -- under threat from Saffy to make a decision -- but will they fail and have to resort to redecoration regression therapy?
This also includes extras: "How to Be Absolutely Fabulous" (28 minutes), "Ab Fab Moments" (78 minutes) and "French & Saunders: Modern Mother and Daughter" (8 minutes). This single-disc release will be in stores on
October 16th, and we have the box art for it below. It goes for $14.98 SRP, but you can
pre-order it from Amazon for $11.19 right now.
Also available for pre-order from Amazon, but not announced by the BBC or distributor Warner Home Video, is the
Absolutley Fabulous - Absolutely Everything 9-DVD set. We suppose that this is exactly what it is (everything!), and it goes for $129.98 SRP according to the e-tailer's info. They're pre-selling it for only $90.99, though, if you place your order today. Stay tuned and we'll try to get more details, and box art. Here's the
Absolutely Fabulous - White Box artwork for now:
