Early last week we
broke the news that Lionsgate Entertainment is preparing an
April 21st release for
8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter - Season 2 on DVD. That info came from our friends in the home video retail industry, and now they've passed along some additional info from the studio. Besides confirming the date and the $29.98 SRP pricetag (which you can save on by
pre-ordering from DVDEmpire at a discount), it has also come to light that this will be a 3-disc collection running 528 minutes long (DVDEmpire shows "480," but we're told that Lionsgate provided the larger number, which sounds more appropriate for the 24 half-hour segments aired for this season). Here's a new studio-provided description of the set; stay tuned for cover art!
Relive the ups and downs of the Hennessy clan with this heartwarming ABC family comedy starring John Ritter (in his last episodes on the show before his death), Katey Sagal, David Spade, and James Garner. Now you can continue your collection with Season 2 of "8 Simple Rules" on DVD.
It's a time for healing and learning to deal with life without family patriarch Paul (the late John Ritter), as the Hennessys discover the frailties of life and the strength of the family unit. Widowed mom Cate (Katey Sagal), now finds herself in the precarious position of raising three teenagers on her own.
She does get a little relief from her father, Jim (James Garner), who's been staying at the house since Paul's death. But the family is thrown for a loop when Cate's wayward nephew, C.J. (David Spade), moves in and finds it hard to resist getting himself into trouble or offering questionable advice to the kids.
