Following up on DVD releases of
6Teen - The Complete 1st Season (which actually had only the first half of the season, with episodes 1-13) in November 2007 and
6Teen - Special Yearbook Edition (with the second half of the first season, episodes 14-26) in December 2008, we've gotten word that it won't be that long of a wait for the next multi-disc release of the TeleToon series!
Thanks to reader Gord Marquis, who forwarded us his correspondence with the folks at Peace Arch Home Entertainment (which KaBoom! Entertainment is a part of), we've learned that episodes 27-39 will be coming to DVD in Canada sometime in
May 2009, with the release of
6Teen - Season 2, Volume 1. That will bring us to the halfway mark of the three seasons which have aired so far, but a fourth season is coming later this year: 13 episodes have been ordered for what might possibly turn out to be the final season of TeleToon's longest-running original series (it debuted in 2004).
In the USA, the series has moved from Nickelodeon to the Cartoon Network, but there has been no word yet about DVD releases in the States. But never fear, because fans south of the border can use their Amazon.com accounts to order the Canadian releases from Amazon.ca (if available, that is: the "
Complete 1st Season" release seems to perpetually be out of stock and may possibly have been discontinued) and it will get delivered to their State-side address, while the credit card handles the exchange from Canadian to USA dollars (exchange rates will fluctuate daily, but as of this writing CA$21.99 translates to US$17.46).
Our thanks again to Gord Marquis for passing the info along to us. Keep in mind that DVD release plans are always subject to change. Stay tuned and we'll provide an exact release date for
Season 2, Volume 1, along with pricing info and cover art, just as soon as Kaboom/Peace Arch makes it available!
