Wow! Thanks to sharp-eyed reader Brandon Hines, who we appreciate for taking the time to e-mail us with this info. Seems that Brandon spotted
a listing at FoxStore.com for the unannounced DVD title
24 - Season 6! This is certainly some long-range stuff, as the release date shown is
December 4th.
The date is about right, since that's a day less than a year after the fifth season hit store shelves. The "FoxStore Price" of $59.98 is the same amount as the fifth season's SRP list price, too. Content listed is "
6 disks [sic]
including hours of bonus material with behind the Scenes Featurettes", with a running time shown of 1100 minutes. Widescreen video format is mentioned, and although there are no audio specs there it does show that this release is closed captioned for the hearing impaired. Below is a closer look at the early key art shown, which may or may not end up being the DVD cover art. Also is the text of the description shown at that listing:
Created by Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran, 24 retains its unpredictable and unique format in the highly anticipated sixth season.
Season six picks up 20 months after last season’s shocking season finale, when JACK BAUER (Kiefer Sutherland) was captured by Chinese government agents – battered, bloodied and headed for points unknown. WAYNE PALMER (DB Woodside), the strong-minded brother of the late President David Palmer, is now the President of the United States, and is aided by his sister SANDRA PALMER (Regina King), a powerful advocacy lawyer.
After a series of horrific terrorist attacks, Palmer and his team of advisors, KAREN HAYES (Jayne Atkinson) and THOMAS LENNOX (Peter MacNicol) – as well as CTU colleagues CHLOE O’BRIAN (Mary Lynn Rajskub), CURTIS MANNING (Roger Cross) and BILL BUCHANAN (James Morrison) – begin an unthinkable nail-biting day.
