Fox has taken over distribution of the MGM library from Sony, and with that comes
Stargate, the strongest MGM TV title. Fox hasn't officially announced this, but we received an email from one of our retail friends who decided to spill the beans on the ninth season set of
Stargate SG-1.
The 5 disc set will contain all 20 episodes (880 mins) of the 9th season, presented in Anamorphic Widescreen (1.78:1), along with English Dolby Digital 5.1 audio, and French Dolby Surround audio tracks. Subtitles will be available in English, French and Spanish. The set will sell for a suggested price of $49.95 US when it's released on
October 3.

Keep in mind this hasn't been officially announced yet, and plans may change, but with a release date just a few months away we don't expect that to happen. We'll have artwork as soon as it's made available. Still no word on when/if there may be a way for fans to get slim packaging for seasons 1-8 (JUST the packaging). We'll post news to the site if we hear anything.
